Homecoming: The Game

Homecoming: The Game

By Nathan Young

Last Friday night, the Geneva Eagles football team took on the Brentwood Bears in a highly anticipated Homecoming matchup. The Eagles took an early lead, with three unanswered touchdowns to start—courtesy of passes from quarterback Will Langenbahn to Joel Calderon, Devon Ahrens and Scott Janse, with a 30-yard rush by Devon Ahrens as well. At halftime, the homecoming court was announced, and Zach Scott and Shelby Miller were crowned Homecoming king and Queen. The team went into the half with a significant lead, and didn’t let up in the second half. The game ended 42-24, with two touchdowns from Josh Nate leading to the victory. The stands were ecstatic during the whole game and the band brought that extra excitement with great performances throughout the game. All-in-all, the night was a success, and the team came out with a great victory against a district rival.
