R is for Receive
Luke Bower R is for Receive
The importance of knowing the true meaning of Christmas is extremely valuable. As kids we often accept it without much thought. Yeah, sure Jesus was born but presents, right!? As children all we really cared about was what cool thing might end up under the tree. And while knowing the importance of giving is great, sometimes we have a hard time learning how to RECEIVE. I remember multiple occasions as a younger kid. My family would all sit in the living room and watch each other send shreds of wrapping paper to the floor opening their presents one by one. Then being handed a present to only moments later tear into the Christmas themed wrapping paper without saying so much as a thank you. Depending on who was giving the gift and whether or not my mom was there to nervously say, the classic “what do you say?” I tended to take without thought. It sounds weird but, sometimes it’s harder to receive rather than give.
